Senior Software Engineer, Client Research and Development

We are looking for a talented engineer to join a team working on creating the next generation of interactive experiences and tools at Disney Streaming.


As a Senior Software Engineer on our Client Research and Development team, you will help us push the boundaries of what is possible on our streaming applications on such diverse platforms as iOS, Android, Web, and a myriad of Living Room Devices like PlayStation, Xbox, and more. Work in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment with a versatile team of similarly passionate software development professionals. Responsibilities

  • Build out new features and enhancements using modern programming languages.

  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and UX designers to develop and integrate features.

  • Maintain code quality through test driven development and code reviews.

  • Promote engineering best practices.

  • Continuously take advantage of opportunities to learn and share with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

  • 5+ years building scalable production-quality multi-platform experiences.

  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals and varying skill levels.

  • Experience working within a diverse array of languages and a desire to learn!

  • Strong understanding of design patterns, security principles and best practices.

  • Proven ability to integrate with service APIs or SDKs and a critical eye for specifics and potential extensions.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with streaming video, large data applications, and analytics suites.

  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, C#, or C++.

  • Hands-on experience with early and emerging technologies.

  • Ability to create accessible, but thorough, documentation for a diverse audience.

  • Familiarity with vibranium metallurgy, Genovian culture and customs, or hyperdrive motivators is a plus.

The hiring range for this remote position is $165,110.00 to $191,180.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
